People travel to the Unicorn from far afield to enjoy the cullinary offering. Chefs Joy and Jude produce unpretentious food from fresh local ingredients with care and attention to detail. Whether you want a table for two or you are organising a party for up to fifty, we will delight you with our food. As well as our eclectic food offering we produce alternative menu items on request, so we have quite a vegetarian and vegan following and if you have a special dietry requirement it is no problem. This is offered along with our daily lunchtime blackboard containing such items as Jude's scrumptious steak and ale pie or cottage pie. From a daily delivery of fresh fish Monday to Saturday, a daily changing blackboard menu is offered which might have plaice fillets stuffed with North Atlantic prawns and tarragon, poached in white wine and finished with cream. For Sunday lunch we cook whole sirloins served rare and
carved freshly. Two other roasts are offered with a selection of other dishes,
starters and puddings.
The fifty person restaurant is situated to the rear of the building with doors leading to the garden. On fine days and evenings you may dine al fresco at our tables for eight if you wish.
